CONTEST
Again this year we are giving the opportunity for one lucky artist to be the opening act for our 100% LIVE party! Contestants will submit a 30-minute video of themselves playing live to be considered. We feel it is important to help the community of live performing artists grow and be discovered. Our 100% LIVE event series was created because we felt there was a lack of exposure for live techno acts performing in Detroit during Movement Festival weekend. There are loads of DJs, but we believe that live artists are a key element of the techno scene and should be showcased. The 100% LIVE event series is unlike any other during movement and we want you to be a special part of it!
What You Win
- Opening timeslot (30-45 min) at the 2024 100% LIVE party
- You are paid a $200 performance fee
- 2 Guestlist comps/tickets
How To Win & The Judges
INITIAL SELECTION: This year our team will rank all of the videos that are submitted.
FINAL SELECTION: The top 3 live acts will move on to be reviewed by our special panel of industry judges, which will be announced soon. These judges are all members of the techno community who are well-known producers, DJs, Live artists, and promoters/event coordinators. At the beginning of April (date tbd), each judge will pick their top choice and tell us why they chose that artist and their accompanying video. The artist with the most votes from the panel of judges will be awarded the opening slot for the 100% LIVE party for 2024.
How To Enter & Guidelines
- Complete the submission form below and provide a link to a video of yourself playing live
- Videos must be new and made specifically for this contest, not something from a previous event, etc.
- Videos should be at least 30 minutes but no longer than 1 hour, clear, and recorded in 1080p or 4K
- Audio must be clear and recorded via line-in, not a mic. (see this video for help if unsure)
- Upload videos to YouTube and submit the link via the form below
- All submissions must be received by Friday, March 22, 2024 11:59pm EST
- One entry per contestant
- Contestants must be at least 18 years of age to enter
- Transportation to/from the venue is not included
- Techno | Industrial Techno | EBM | Broken Beat | Electro submissions only
- You may use whatever pieces of gear you want, that includes a computer if it is part of your setup. No DJing.
