We are searching for an opening act for this year’s 100% LIVE party!! Contestants will submit a 30-minute video of themselves playing live and those videos will be voted by the public. We feel it is important to help the community of live performing artists grow and be discovered. Our 100% LIVE event series was created because we felt there was a lack of exposure for live techno acts performing in Detroit during Movement festival weekend. There are loads of DJs, but we believe that live artists are a key element of the techno scene and should be showcased. The 100% LIVE event series is unlike any other during movement and we want you to be a special part of it!

What You Win

  • Opening timeslot (30-45 min) at the 2023 100% LIVE party
  • $200 cash performance fee
  • Invite to artist dinner
  • 2 Guestlist comps / tickets

How To Enter & Guidelines

  • Complete the submission form below and provide link to video of yourself playing live
  • Videos should be at least 30 minutes long, clear, and recorded in 1080p
  • Audio must be clear and recorded via line-in, not a mic. (see this video for help if unsure) 
  • Upload videos to a cloud service (i.e. WeTransfer.com) and submit the link via the form below
  • All submissions must be received by Saturday, March 4, 2023 11:59pm EST
  • Voting begins on Monday, March 6, 2023 12:00pm EST
  • Voting ends by Friday, March 24, 2023 11:59pm EST
  • One entry per contestant
  • Contestants must be at least 18 years of age to enter
  • Transportation to/from the venue is not included
  • Techno | Industrial Techno | EBM | Broken Beat | Electro submissions only
  • You may use whatever pieces of gear you want, that includes a computer if it is part of your setup.  No DJing.

How To Win

Submissions meeting contest requirements and performance standards will be posted to a dedicated page on this website. It is then up to the contestants to share the link, market themselves, and try and gain the public’s vote. At the end of the contest, the contestant who has the most votes will be declared the winner, and awarded the opening slot. Good luck to all!
